Let’s look into another interesting NFT project - Cult Bears. 🐻 To be honest, I started noticing them just recently. More than a week ago, I was a guest speaker during Twitter spaces organized by DotSamahub, where I had a chance to learn more about this project. After that, I decided to interview them, so you all could better understand what this project is about.

1. How did the story of Cult Bears start? What was the initial idea, and when was this project created?

   Around seven months ago, the initial concept of Cult Bears was created. I was always very passionate about the Polkadot ecosystem and the underlying technology—especially the trustless asset teleportation and chain interoperability concept. The transition to cross-chain use cases is inevitable and the next iteration of a multi-chain future. That’s why I decided to build Cult Bears on the two largest parachains, which have a strong focus on cross-chain use cases via XCM/XVM.

2. Tell us more about the project.

   We want to attract users from both ecosystems and develop a platform that can be accessed from multiple chains. That’s why the total supply of 2,000 bears is equally split between Moonbeam and Astar.

3. Why did you decide to choose bears as your NFTs? And what was the creative process like?

   Bears were chosen as the main characters for various reasons.
   1. Bears are beautiful and powerful creatures.
   2. It addresses the current market sentiment, and that great things can be built even during tough times.
   3. There was no bear collection on Moonbeam and Astar then. 

   And we wanted to create something unique; it’s not a derivative of another collection. It’s an entirely new and detail-rich artwork. During the generation process, each bear was customized 1 by 1 and represented a part of our history. The beginning of a cross-chain future.

4. I've read that there will also be mythic devil bears and rare polar ones. How is the rarity determined? Will there be any special bonuses for early adopters or collectors?

   Absolutely, early minters and holders will receive a guaranteed airdrop in $honey, our upcoming cross-chain utility and governance token. 10% of the total $honey will be allocated to reward early supporters.

   We have the following rarity system: 

   Mythic Devil Bears: 4 / mythic 

   Diamond Polar Bears: 26 / legendary

   White Polar Bears: 50 / ultra rare

   Gold Bears: 100 / rare

   Bears: 1820 / common

   For reference, Mythic Devil Bears will give you a $honey airdrop up to 16x larger than common bears. 

5. Can you explain the benefits of building a cross-chain NFT ecosystem and why you used Moonbeam and Astar for Cult Bears?

   Moonbeam and Astar are heavily focused on this narrative and provide valuable tools, resources, and documentation for developers.

   A cross-chain NFT ecosystem can make the blockchain space less isolated. In one place, NFTs can be traded across multiple chains, and players can interact with others without being limited to a single blockchain. 

6. Do you plan to build collaborations with other DotSama projects? If yes, what is your idea?

   There are many great projects on Polkadot and Kusama, but they are mostly separated communities. The idea is to build a platform where all those communities can unite and create one large ecosystem.

7. Tell us more about the upcoming game - Cult Verse. 

   Not much information about the game has been released, but it will be accessible from multiple blockchains with a sustainable game economy. 50% of all collection royalty fees are used to buy back Cult Bear NFTs, which are then added to the rewards pool. To enter the game, you’ll need to pay a small fee in $honey, and the top players can win Cult Bear NFTs, $honey & other valuable rewards.

8. Can you walk us through minting and acquiring a Cult Bears NFT?

   Sure, the process is relatively straightforward. When visiting our minting page, you can select the network you want to mint on, Moonbeam or Astar, and you can choose between 5 different rarities; mythic, legendary, ultra-rare, rare, and common.

   Currently, Metamask is the only supported wallet. 

9. What plans do you have for the future development of Cult Bears, and how do you see the project evolving?

   I see Cult Bears developing into a true DAO, NFT marketplace, and fun P2E game. But also a place where everyone is welcome to contribute. We have a very open structure; anyone can apply to become a council member and create proposals. The only requirement is to hold at least 1 Cult Bear NFT.

10. And last question for you what advice do you have for other creators looking to enter the NFT space, and what do you think are the key trends or challenges that they should be aware of?

    For newcomers, I would suggest just getting started, gaining valuable experience, and carefully listening to community feedback. It’s important that you confirm that there’s an actual interest in what you are creating or building.
